“It’s like they are in a cloud.”
These are the exact words my husband said when he saw the Mother’s Day Minis promo shots I took this past weekend. And it gave me all the feels. Why? Because the paradox was not lost on me. The images look almost heavenly— and yet, motherhood isn’t always so. Parenting is hard work. In my experience, its the hardest work I’ve ever done. It’s full of sacrifice, dying to yourself daily. Motherhood is often thankless, tiring, and never-ending. Even on the best days it may drive you nuts. But thats not the whole story… is it? While motherhood is incredibly challenging, it is also equal parts beautiful. There is fun to savor, and joy to be had. You can hold the heavy and the joy in the same pair of hands, at the same time. It’s both and. And because there is beauty to be had, I HAVE TO CAPTURE IT!
